Day 28: Deweyville, TX to Kinder, LA

We are finally out of Texas! With today’s 60-mile ride, we crossed into Louisiana, and in doing so, crossed the two-thirds mark of our ride. According to Google Maps, we have just 811 more miles to ride to reach our destination on the beach of Saint Augustine, Florida. Thus far, Louisiana looks much like the eastern edge of Texas with endless pine forests intersected by the occasional river, bayou, or swamp. We did, however, note a new “Southern Hospitality” as in one stop at a gas station we talked to more people than we have in the previous five states (or it seemed that way at least!).
